Helping Thai Tsunami victim families & displaced workers recover & rebuild their lives

Almost 30 years ago, two young men were chosen to serve Latter Day Saint (a.k.a. mormon) missions to Bangkok, Thailand.  Little did they both know that they would develop a life long friendship and a long term relationship in helping the Thai people in many ways.

David Rockwood & Peter Willden, have been working in Thailand in many different business capacities since their missionary service in the 70’s, they are both fluent in Thai and know how to "get things done" in Thailand.  David Rockwood is the “Honorary Trade Representative for the State of Utah for Thailand”, and is a private businessman involved in import / export management and international business development; he travels between his home in Park City, Utah and his business office in Thailand monthly.

Peter Willden works with one of the largest food supplement companies in Asia, and lives with his Thai wife & family in Bangkok, Thailand.

Helping local beachfront workers & surf industry recover, & teach their kids to surf!
Sept. 16-18

Helping local beachfront workers recover-

We are helping local beach workers recover their lost incomes and ways in which they make a living, with rental beach equipment, surf boards & boogie boards for rental, donated new items to help the local beachfront surf shop rebuild and prepare for new tourist season.

We are paying for some local surf coaches to instruct local kid’s to surf, so that they can learn to enjoy the ocean again and overcome some psychological “hang up’s” about the ocean due to their tsunami experiences. By enjoying the ocean and riding the waves they gain confidence in being in the water and can use their spare time with good active sports recreation and development of athletic skills.

Support of local Phuket Surf Contest Sept. 16-18, 2005-

This event is mainly for local Jr. surfers to get a chance to compete and to expand this excellent form of FREE recreation to the Thai Tsunami Victim kids in the area.  They are all sharing a few old beat up boards, and we are hoping to get a sufficient number of boards donated so that these local kids can improve on their surf skills. Natural Thai will donate a trip for 2 local Thai surf kids to come and compete at a surf contest in San Diego, California in the summer of 2006.
